- Green Banana (unripe) / Plantain *
- Kefir Milk*
- Cilantro
- Red chili powder
- Dry roasted jeera/Cumin seeds powder
- Oil roasted Peanuts and coarsely crushed
- Black salt to taste
Method: Wash the green unripe banana chop off the edges, cut them into 3 equal portions put them in a pot without water in it and place the pot in a cooker and pressure cook them for 1 or 2 whistles. You may even steam them for 10-15 minutes instead.
Meanwhile in a bowl take some Kefir/Yogurt, mix it to smooth raita consistency, add chili powder, jeera powder, crushed peanuts, black salt and finely chopped cilantro. Mix them all well and keep aside.
Now, remove the cooled banana from cooker, peel the skin out, bananas will still stay firm and not mushy! Chop them into fine pieces and add them to the Kefir/Yogurt mix and enjoy this amazing, healthy simple, easy to make, refreshing and yummy raita by itself or it is a good accompaniment with Parathas, Roti, Chapatis, Biriyani, Pulao, Khichdi of your choice!

For variations, you can keep this as base and top it with additional nutrition and delicious options like .. adding diced Onions, diced cucumber or dry roasted pumpkin seeds or dry roasted Melon seeds to this Raita which can turn out to be great source of protein and wholesome meal by itself.
Potato lovers can use boiled and chopped potatoes in place of plantains!
